On August 29, 2006, KristalBond R&D Sdn Bhd and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) signed a research and development collaboration memorandum of understanding (MoU). This joint study focuses on building energy efficacy and its sustainability. The five-year MoU covers joint research and development technology and applications, the development of research projects and also for the purpose of education to its academic staff and students. Held at UiTM's own campus hotel, the gracious event was witnessed by head of faculties, deans and UiTM's honored guests.
Representing KristalBond R&D for the signing ceremony was Mr Yanki Regan, KristalBond Group Chairman and Mr Tan Chee Yuen, General Manager whilst UiTM was represented by Dato; Seri Prof. Dr Hj Ibrahim Abu Shah, Vice Chancellor and Prof. Dr Ahmad Sazali Hamzah, Director of Institute of Science. This is the first time KristalBond is collaborating with an academic body for an extensive research on building energy efficiency. The aim is to collect non-bias data from various aspects of the study to reveal the full potential of the product. KristalBond protective glass coating is the only coating of its kind in Malaysia that is able to reduce the transmission of infrared and ultraviolet rays. It's durability and clarity makes it highly suitable for application on architecture glass of any shape and size.
The study involves two other companies which also signed a similar MoU with UiTM the same day. Putra Perdana Construction Sdn Bhd is a renowned building and infrastructure developer and Sabutek (M) Sdn Bhd is a manufacture building materials made out of palm fibre. UiTM is a leading technology institution of higher learning in the country. Its campus is located in Shah Alam. |

The futuristic SAMSUNG Digital Media Plaza in Bintang Walk is now coated with KristalBond, the liquid protective glass coating that keeps it cooler and better protect the interior from harmful sun rays.
Mr Stephen Wong, Consumer Electronics Marketing Manager of SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd, said: "We designed the SAMSUNG Digital Media Plaza to be the first in the world using curved glass with degrees never previously attempted.
"Now, with Kristalbond, we have gone further to protect the dome-like plaza from harmful sunlight while maintaining its aesthetic values."
The SAMSUNG Digital Media Plaza is space age-designed to reflect the technological advanced products it hosts. It utilises 40 pieces of curved glass panels.
The SAMSUNG Digital Media Plaza is the centre of attraction in the ongoing SAMSUNG Family Carnival 2004/2005 which began today. Visitors to the carnival can participate in games and contests for the family and children and win lots of prizes including KristalBond discount vouchers. The carnival will be held every Saturday and Sunday until 23 January 2004.
KristalBond General Manager, Mr Tan Chee Yuen is happy that KristalBond is adding value to the SAMSUNG Digital Media Plaza as a SAMSUNG brand ambassador.
Mr Tan said: "KristalBond is a revolutionary breakthrough technology that can solve almost all the problems associated with film tinting. It is so efficient and effective that we dare call KristalBond the earth's new ozone layer."
Unlike conventional tinting, KristalBond does not peel, bubble, delaminate nor burn easily. It lasts longer and the seamless bond enables any glass structure to retain its aesthetic values. "We are confident that KristalBond will change the way the interior of buildings are shielded from ultraviolet rays and infrared rays," Mr Tan added.
